Modern Montréal
Since the beginning of the 20th century, Montréal has been the cradle of stunning modern heritage… futuristic architecture that sometimes disagrees with the city’s eclectic urban style. Place Ville-Marie, Westmount Square and Expo 67 feature types of architecture that are part of our cultural heritage. High-rises, churches, schools, caisses populaires and bungalows of the 1930s to 1970s speak about dreams, changes and innovations that have marked modern Québec.
