Patrimoine, Histoire et Paysage : expériences d’ici et d’ailleurs
Director of policies at Heritage Montréal and former Secretary-General of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), an organization associated with UNESCO and the World Heritage Committee, Dinu Bumbaru recently received the Order of Canada for his commitment to heritage over the past 25 years. Dinu Bumbaru will give a lecture in which he compares the challenges and successes achieved here and abroad to protect and enhance urban and landscape architectural heritage.

Espace MV architectural project in Dorval
Architect Aurèle Cardinal will give a lecture on the new Espace MV residential project featuring lofts, condos and townhouses. The project was named MV as a tribute to artists Jean-Paul Mousseau and Claude Vermette, in reference to their mural displayed in the rotunda of the former Novartis complex, site for the project. Aurèle Cardinal will share his vision of the project, to be ecologically sound and in tune with the environment, in a context of sustainable development.

Stained glass – Lighting effects
Stained glass art reached its apogee in the Middle-Ages with the Chartres and Canterbury cathedrals. Through the ages, stained glass art evolved and became increasingly imaginative. Cliff Oswald, a stained glass art expert and resident of Pointe-Claire introduces this multifaceted form of art.

Builders and architects in the West Island
The Société patrimoine et histoire de l’Île-Bizard et Sainte-Geneviève will be holding a lecture on the life and achievements of eight architects from various periods who have designed buildings in the West Island. Lecturer Anne Collette, president of the Société du patrimoine de l’Ouest-de-l’Île, will talk about the architectural works of Thomas Baillargé, architect of the Sainte-Geneviève Church, Victor Bourgeau, architect of the Saint-Raphaël-Archange de L’Île-Bizard, Edward and William Maxwell, Frederick G. Todd, Richard Buckminster Fuller, Léonard Paillé and Roger D’Astous.
